10/15/13 - Ready for a Visit with "The Best"

A lot of you have been asking about updates on Elliot and I'm well over due with all that has happened in the past couple of months. Tonight we head out to our final of three specialists – Dr. William Mackenzie in DE, the "Best" in the US. Both of our meetings with Dr. Dan in Columbia, MO and Dr. Weiner in Akron, OH were so well worth the trips. I have a lot to share and will do so once we get through our final trip this week.

Determining the Next Steps

Following our appointment this Thursday in DE, we will attend the LPA Medical Conference in Madison on Oct 25-26 where we will meet back up with our Geneticist, Dr. Pauli and Dr. Dan (our desired surgeon at this point) to begin discussing the plan for the exact surgical procedures and timing of surgery for Elliot's left knee. By then, all three specialists will have shared their findings and recommendations back to Dr. Pauli in Madison who is our advocate and liaison, if you will, to determine the best next steps for Elliot. We are still anticipating surgery before year-end, but still too soon to plan exact details.
